Privacy policy

This explains what Visafir Private Limited does with your information when you book a hotel through this site.

What we collect

• Account — your name, email address and mobile number.
• Guests — the names and titles of the people staying, their ages where a child rate applies, and a PAN or passport number where the rate or the law requires one.
• Booking — the hotel, dates, room and price, and the status of the booking.
• Payment — handled by Razorpay. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and an identifier for it. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN or netbanking credentials.
• Technical — our server keeps ordinary web logs, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in and remembers your current search.

Why, and who we share it with

• Guest names, contact details and any PAN or passport number are sent to Tripjack, and on to the hotel, because a booking cannot be made without them.
• Payment details go to Razorpay to take and refund money.
• Your email address is used to send your voucher and anything about your booking.
• We share information where the law requires it. We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Bookings and the invoices attached to them are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which in India is currently eight years. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; we will remove what we are not required to keep.

Your rights

Write to sales@visafir.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or ask for it to be deleted. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may also withdraw consent and complain to the Data Protection Board of India. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and payments go directly to Razorpay. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
